For my final show, I was given the opportunity to create a mural that would be displayed in Newcastle College's animation and illustration room for years to come.
To help brainstorm some ideas, I drew over a photograph I took using photoshop and aimed to fill the space effectively. Since this was going to be my main illustration of the show, I wanted to pinpoint exactly what represented my style.
The main focus was placed on my character design and colouring abilities.
Due to my final show work, I was offered in-house studio work at a local animation studio.
I decided to try my hand out at airbrushing and thought I'd use a familiar character to learn the style first. Once I airbrushed the character, I tried to incorporate a graphic design inspired background like the 90's Japanese box artworks had.
I'm pleased with the outcome and I'll be looking to use this style for future works.
I've always wanted to create some stickers, so I thought "why not make a whole set??".
An assortment of birthday cards I've made over the past few years.

Installation at Newcastle College. Started off as a small biro sketch on A4, traced on PhotoShop and then forwarded onto illustrator before it was laser cut onto a vinyl sheet. Had a blast with this one.

"Legend of Zelda" Character Design Concept
